Urban Indigenous Proud

In the winter/spring of 2018, the United Native Friendship Centre, Ontario Federation of Indigenous Friendship Centres and the National Film Board of Canada came together and created a short film reflecting some of the programming we offer here at the UNFC.  We wish to thank the UNFC Board of Directors, staff, Elders and community members who participated.  We welcome you to view our film on the National Film Board of Canada's Indigenous Cinema site.  Click here.

Connecting Families Initiative

The Government of Canada’s Connecting-Families initiative was launched on November 13th 2018. It will enable selected Canadian families to access high speed Internet service packages from participating Internet Service Providers - for $10 per month. The Connecting Families initiative will reduce the cost of Internet for hundreds of thousands of Canadians and distribute up to 50,000 computers to eligible households to equip them with tools, skills, access and experience to participate in the digital economy. Official webpage: https://ic.gc.ca/eic/site/111.nsf/eng/home The not-for-profit Computers for Success Canada (cfsc-opec.org) has been contracted by the Government of Canada to help deliver the Connecting Families initiative. To benefit from the initiative, eligible families will have received a letter from the Government of Canada and will have to sign up through an online Portal.
